    MYCHROMA is a temporary hair colour that creates a unique, prismatic effect as it shifts colours in response to changes in temperature and sunlight

    SPECTRA

    Blur the lines of physical & digital reality with SPECTRA Eye Colour, a cream product that applies smoothly, transforming to a bright, reflective silver under a phone camera's flash.  

    SPECTRA can be applied using a brush or your fingers, and for best results, leave the product to dry for about a minute. To activate its reflective effect, use the back-facing camera on your phone with the flash on, and watch it transform through your phone's screen. 

  • How To Use

    ABSORPTION Mascara: Starting at the base of the lashes, apply from root to tip for an even coverage.

    ABSORPTION Liner: For a defined eye glide ABSORPTION Liner along the lash line and waterline. 

    MYCHROMA

    Applying MYCHROMA Hair:

    01. Simply paint or sponge the MYCHROMA Hair liquid onto clean hair. 

    02. Comb through and dry with a hair dryer or leave to dry naturally. 

    TOP TIP: Gently comb the product through when it's still wet to ensure even application through the hair and avoid overbrushing as the product dries as this will remove the product. 


    Applying MYCHROMA Hair on textured hair:

    01. Prep the hair.

    02. Simply apply using a sponge, fingers, brush, or spray on the product

    03. Depending on your texture and desired look, comb through and blow dry.


    Activating MYCHROMA Hair prismatic effect:

    01. Once the product has dried, watch the colours fluctuates depending on the temperature of your environment. 

    NOTE: Colour change activates between 28-33 ºC (82-91 ºF). The speed of the colour change depends on the change in temperature or change in the strength of UV light. It can happen quickly and dramatically. If you go from inside to outside on a sunny day or use hot air from a blow dryer, the colour transforms with ease. 

     

    Removing MYCHROMA Hair:

    01. Just wash out and blow dry your hair to remove.

    01. Apply SPECTRA and allow to dry fully

    02. Ensure you have a small and direct light source like a ring light that can go around your camera lens or the back flash of your phone’s camera

    03. Find a dark environment with minimal or absent light

    04. Strike a pose and take your photo with the flash on or a light close to your eyes

    TOP TIP: Showcase the on/off effect by alternating the light exposure to reveal the unseen, a live photo with flash showcases the effect best.

A: Living Ink uses by-product algae material grown at Earthrise Nutritionals, located in Imperial County, California. Algae is grown using sunlight, water, carbon dioxide and nutrients. Algae, such as spirulina, are grown for a blue colorant called phycocyanin, which is extracted and used as a natural food colorant. The remaining material is considered algae by-product. Living Ink uses this left-over material to make a bio-based black pigment.
A: Earthrise Nutritionals grows a type of algae called spirulina using sunlight, water and carbon dioxide from the air. Algae grows faster than terrestrial plants and are renewable. When algae grows it absorbs carbon dioxide and produces oxygen. Algae does not use traditional farmland, thus production it does not displace food production.
